Wedding Videographer in Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny: How to Choose One You’ll Still Be Glad About in 20 Years

Type “wedding videographer near me” into Google from Carlow, Waterford or Kilkenny and you get directory listings, a handful of one-person operations and a lot of gallery pages. Fine for a first look. Less fine when you want to know what you’d actually receive, how the day gets filmed and what each option covers.

So here’s the practical version.

Why a Wexford videographer films so many weddings in Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny

O’Neill Wedding Videos works out of Wexford Town. Noel O’Neill has been filming weddings for more than twenty years, and the weekends take in Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford. None of those counts as a special trip for us. They’re the regular run.

That matters. A videographer who has worked in plenty of churches, hotels and function rooms across the South East has usually met your venue’s problems already. Tricky light, say, or a hall that echoes. You never see that experience on the day. You just notice that nothing went wrong.

What a wedding videographer actually films

Our style is documentary. We don’t stage shots or ask anyone to do anything twice. We watch, and we record what happens, which is why the finished film feels like your day. You can see how we work on the wedding videography page and in the showreels.

Preparations and the ceremony

You and your partner each miss half the day. You’ll never see the groom waiting at the top of the church, and he’ll never see you getting ready while your mother fusses over a veil. The film hands you the half you weren’t in.

Vows are picked up on small wireless microphones, so you hear the words properly later instead of half-remembering them. The picture is Full HD.

Speeches and dancing

Speeches are where wedding films earn their keep. Two years on, you won’t remember most of what your best man said. You’ll want to.

Dancing is mostly a question of how long you’d like it covered, and that’s the main thing separating our packages.

Wedding videographer packages in Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny

	Essential	Premium	Deluxe

Greetings and photoshoot	Greetings and photoshoot	Photoshoot	Greetings and photoshoot
Speeches	Before the meal	Full speeches	Full speeches

For a figure on your date and venue, send a message through the contact page. The full breakdown sits on our packages page.

Our honest take: Essential suits a small ceremony where you mainly want the vows and the key moments. If speeches matter to your families, and they usually do, the step up to Premium is worth it, because Essential only covers speeches before the meal. Deluxe is for couples who already know the dancing will be half the party.

What to ask any wedding videographer before you pay a deposit

Ask to see a whole film, not just the highlight reel. Highlights are cut to flatter. A longer edit shows whether the sound is clean and the camera stays steady when nothing exciting is happening.

Ask how they record audio. Vows and speeches can’t be redone, and a camera microphone at the back of a noisy room won’t cut it.

Ask exactly what you’ll receive, in what format and roughly when. Get it in writing. Then ask whether they’ve filmed at your venue or near it, because a videographer who knows the room spends the day filming instead of problem-solving.

Booking timing, travel and delivery

How early should you book?

We suggest twelve to eighteen months ahead. Summer Saturdays across the South East go first, and once your date and venue are confirmed there’s no good reason to wait.

Do you travel to Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny?

Yes, and to Gorey, Enniscorthy and New Ross as well. If your venue sits somewhere else, ring and ask. For the right wedding we’ll make the drive.

What do you get at the end?

A Full HD film on USB, with a DVD option, plus digital delivery so family can watch without waiting on a parcel.

“Wedding videographer near me”: what near means across the South East

Google decides what’s near from wherever your phone happens to be. For plenty of couples in Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford, the best fit isn’t the closest dot on the map. What counts is whether the person has filmed in your part of the country before, and whether past couples were happy. Our reviews page is a decent place to judge that.

Got old wedding tapes? Convert them while you’re planning yours

Somewhere in your parents’ house there’s probably a VHS of their wedding, slowly degrading. Magnetic tape loses colour and sharpness and can eventually stop playing at all. Our transfers to USB service converts VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, DVcam and DV tapes, so your own day isn’t the only one you can watch.

The short version

Choose a videographer who has filmed near your venue, record audio properly and show you a full film before you commit. Our three packages run from ceremony coverage to a full documentary edit with dancing until midnight. Book twelve to eighteen months out, particularly for summer.
